VIATEL BECOMES FIRST EUROPEAN OPERATOR TO WIN DELOITTE BEST MANAGED COMPANY AWARD

Viatel the pan-European full-service telecommunications provider,
which is part of the Digiweb Group, has become the first European
telecoms operator to win a Deloitte Best Managed Company Award.

At a recent awards ceremony, Viatel CEO Colm Piercy accepted the
prestigious award on behalf of the company. The award recognises
Viatel as one of the fastest-growing enterprise and wholesale telecoms
solution providers in Europe, offering cutting-edge, bespoke voice,
data connectivity and data hosting solutions to its customers across
Europe.

The Deloitte Best Managed Companies programme, in association with
Barclays Bank Ireland, promotes and recognises excellence in Irish
owned and managed companies. It is the only awards scheme on the
island of Ireland that considers a business’ performance from every
perspective.

According to Viatel CEO, Colm Piercy, “What is most satisfying, is
that the Best Managed Company award recognises the efforts of the
entire Viatel team, across all levels of the business. As Viatel
continues to grow, both in terms of geography as well as services, we
strive to exceed our previous highest standards. This endorsement from
Deloitte and Barclays Bank gives Viatel, further confidence with our
projected growth in a range of new markets.

“As a company, Viatel provides pan-European telecommunications
services across eight countries (Ireland, UK, France, Italy, Belgium,
the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany) and this award will, I
believe, demonstrate important recognition to our European and
international partners,” concluded Colm Piercy.
